Company History

In 1959, Tom Skeuse, Sr. had a vision to start a chemical company dedicated to its customer’s needs. Reagent Chemical began as a small family business with a single product manufactured at its only location by ten dedicated employees.

Today, Reagent Chemical has grown in size and importance to the markets it serves, marketing 15 distinct products at 40 locations by more than 450 dedicated employees.

Through unyielding commitment to customers’ and suppliers’ needs Reagent Chemical has become the largest marketer of hydrochloric acid in the United States.

In 1979 Reagent purchased White Flyer, a century long manufacturer of clay targets used in shooting sports. White Flyer has become the world’s largest producer and marketer of clay targets.

And in 1984, as a means to diversify, Reagent became the world’s largest producer of fancy wood blanks for shotgun and rifle stocks. Reagent also supplies Lexus, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar automobiles and the aero industry with hardwoods and veneers.

The ProSys Division of Reagent Chemical manufacturers cartridge and tube filling equipment used by cosmetic, pharmaceutical and adhesive producers. ProSys is the nation’s largest manufacturer of cartridge packaging equipment.
